Sillosocks Goose Decoys

The Sillosock goose decoy was the first product in the Sillosock range.  The idea was borne out of the need for an easily portable, lightweight, durable and, above all, realistic alternative to the bulky, impractical plastic decoys of the past, which in goose-hunting are required in such vast numbers to create an attractive decoy spread.  Not only have Sillosocks created a practical solution, but also ultra-realistic in appearance and, crucially, movement.  Sillosock Wildfowl decoys are the preferred choice of professional goose-guides world-wide.

All Sillosock goose decoys have been specifically designed for the goose-hunting environment.  The nature of the Tyvec material ensures an incredibly hard-wearing, waterproof and lightweight product which will enhance your hunting experience for many years to come.  The decoys are screen printed with ultra violet paint and a realistic feather pattern. The UV effect has been proven to attract birds due to the colour spectrum visible by the goose.   The decoys are finished in a special matte-effect paint to eliminate any glare or shine.

Sillosocks Goose Head-up (Sentry) – Available in either Canada or Pink/ Greylag plumage varieties

This decoy is in a ‘head-up’ silhouette profile.  It is best used in conjunction with a mixture of ‘head-down’ or Hypa-Flap Sillosocks goose decoys (see below) or any other of the wildfowl Sillosocks range.  The ‘head-up’ variant gives the decoy pattern a very realistic look, especially when used amongst a variety of decoys.  This best inspires confidence amongst potential incoming geese as they perceive the ‘feeding’ birds to have protection from Sentry birds.  From our experience the most effective ratio of ‘head-up’ to ‘head-down’ decoys is 30:70.  This decoy is a carefully calculated size representation in order to most attract passing geese.  Please note – all head-up Sillosock goose decoys come with a high-detail 3-D latex head.  Each decoy has a sprung-steel, metal ground spike for easy and stable placement in the ground.

This decoy is in a ‘head-down’ silhouette profile.  As with the head-up (sentry) version, it is best used in conjunction with a mixture of other Sillosocks goose decoys.  The ‘head-down’ variant gives the decoy pattern a very realistic look, especially when used amongst a variety of decoys.  This attracts potential incoming geese to join an actively feeding flock.  From our experience the most effective ratio of ‘head-up’ to ‘head-down’ decoys is 30:70.  This decoy is a carefully calculated size representation in order to most attract passing geese.  The head-down goose decoys feature a standard, flock-coated silhouette head and neck profile.  Each decoy has a sprung-steel, metal ground spike for easy and stable placement in the ground.

Canada Goose Decoy Hypa Flap

Sillosocks Hypa-Flap Goose Decoy - Canada

Never before has a flapping goose decoy been an option for hunters – until now.  This is a great option for hunters wishing to add added movement and draw extra attention to their decoy pattern.  Following on from the proven success and reliability of the pigeon Hypa-Flap, we decided to extend the advantage to the wildfowler.  The specifications of the Hypa-Flap goose decoy have been specially calculated to closely mirror the wing beat and motion of a flying goose.  This decoy really does need to be seen to be believed, as does the reaction of nearby birds.  As with the pigeon Hypa-Flap decoy, this is the ultimate in ‘fit and forget’ flapping decoys, without a battery or pull chord in sight.  This decoy  comes complete with a 3 foot mounting stake designed to be pushed vertically into the ground.  This in turn fits into a swivel mounting bracket in the ‘bill’ of the decoy, allowing the decoy to ‘weathervane’ 360 degrees into the wind.  This ensures constant movement as the decoy is therefore facing into the wind at all times.
